![]() I'm just not sure which plan I'd get the most value out of, as well as which plan would help me achieve a cloud backup for recovery purposes. I'm just wanting something that allows me to choose which files and folders I want to backup, along with it knowing which files are new, changed, and deleted (file versioning included). Uploading and downloading folders like that is time consuming and pointless in my situation. On the other hand, the service you offer is at a set price so I'd know exactly how much I'd be paying for, but not keen on it backing up all of my files and folders as things like the Windows folder are irrelevant to me if I need to do a fresh install. Free backup software is exactly what you think it is: completely free programs that can be used to manually or automatically make copies of the important data on your computer hard drive and save them somewhere safe like a flash drive, disc, network drive, etc. The only thing with the B2 one is I can't predict how much storage I'm going to be using, even when I use the website's calculator, and having an unexpected bill somewhat scares me. I think its more to do with which one I'd get more value out of it. ![]() Yeah I'd say you hit the nail on the head with that one. If you still think I should go for the personal plan, then I could give it a try.Įdit: Updated post on what I'm wanting to achieve. Even though Backblaze say that there are no data caps or additional charges for unlimited storage and that the only limitation is the speed of my upload connection, how do they make it unlimited in the first place? I see many places where they say unlimited, but it usually means things like fair usage policy applies.Pricing is only based on per computer so if I get a new computer or fresh install of Windows, then is it straightforward to move my existing backup to avoid having to re-upload the folders and files again? I feel like there could be a lot of file conflicts between local and remote because I can't choose what files I want to backup.I believe they offer a service where they can send a hard drive with my data on if I want to recover my files, but that's impractical for me as I don't live in or near the US to send it back.Apparently, it doesn't backup certain files and folders, but I could be wrong on that one as I did look at others such as iDrive and Mega. Can't choose what files I want to backup. ![]() ![]() I did check out the personal plan, but from what I read, these are the concerns I have with the personal plan: It wouldn't be for sync across multiple devices, just somewhere to backup my data to, as well as checking that the data is actually backed up successfully. To give a bit of background, I'm wanting to backup my files somewhere offsite as part of a 3-2-1 backup so that if something bad happens, I know the data is safe and I can download it again. I've read that Cyberduck is a good one to go with, but I don't know if it can tell which files are new, changed, and deleted. Considering signing up to B2 and I've been looking for free clients/software that can keep track of files that are new, changed, and deleted, as well as file versioning. ![]()
